Wow.

If you don't know what's going on at www.flickr.com... You should. It took me a while to really delve into it and truly grasp the power of Flickr.. But now that I have, I am powerless to fight it. Flickr has won me over. I think I owe this entirely to Kris Bell, who hooked me up with a Pro account, as he had two to give away as part of Flickr's promotion for people who had already shelled out the measly $24.95 it takes to become a Pro member. This entitled me to Unlimited storage space for my photos (UNLIMITED!), 20gb (!) of upload bandwidth a month, and several other perks that you don't quite get with a free account. But even if you can't scrap up 25$ of change underneath your car seats, the free accounts are just as good for browsing, finding favorites, and making friends.

If you aren't yet convinced that flickr is the greatest thing since cheez whiz, look at these collective group projects that ANYONE can participate in!

So I direct you to my photos, here, and seeing as the main purpose (despite rare updates) of this site was to share pictures, I can't see that I'll be using it for that very often, as flickr is FAR superior when it comes to all that.

I am twenty three. It's abnormally sunny. I have a licensed employer. And my camera's battery charger has been replaced, thank Jeebus.

More on that later.

My favorite type of day is one that is filled with both sunshine and rain. When the sky is black and blue. When everything glistens with brilliant clarity. So that when you slip and fall on the sidewalk, at least you have a pretty view.

My family is goofy.

They all know that when I say this, it is not in the least bit insulting. In fact, when being referenced using that word in the past, family members have replied with oversized grins, silly hats, and many a crazy face.

So when we all get together, and there is sugar involved -- and there usually is -- it never fails that someone gets on the runway.

Addiction.

My christmas present to Danny was a game that I had played a few times before. I enjoyed it in those few occasions, but I had no idea that it would be the hit that it has become. Last night we played four games back to back. Each game took approximately an hour, and at the end of the fourth we looked at the clock to find out it was four in the morning. At which point we decided to play one last game. So we all went to bed around six a.m.

After sleep ridden with dreams of dice and sheep and brick, I awoke to Kendall asking me if I was too busy to play another game. So we played again.

This, my friends, is a problem. We played four more games today, changing different scenarios, goals, and rules. The variations are endless. (And we want the expansion packs desperately.)

is a word I should use more often. Or maybe it could be a city i lived in. or maybe it will be the name of my first born. or maybe it's when you have a variety of star trek fans laid out before you on a buffet table.

sparse updates are how i work. you hear from me, and then it's months before you find out i'm still alive and have completely changed life plans. that's me in a nutshell. or perhaps, a spoonful of peter.

life has been neat the last month. plenty of things have happened, but the only one anyone ever seems to talk about is what this set of pictures revolves around.

When I get restless I cut my hair off. It always feels good. It's fun and harmlessly destructive. Also it makes grooming incredibly easy. If you've never cut off all your hair, or even a large percentage of it, I highly recommend it.

Moving is a pain. It's annoying to have to cram everything you own into boxes. Anyone who has had to do this can sympathize.

Play with blog more often. I probably spent a good four hours today tweaking things and trying new stuff. Getting the thumbnail to open in a seperate sized window which will eventually have a guide through archived photos. Those pills are thus marked "The Beginning." Also notice the randomized title banner. I will be adding more of those as the creativity strikes me. And all that with an eight year old knowledge of html! Huzzah! Well, really I had to look it all up on htmlgoodies.com. But man do I know how to use a search engine!!

Apparently it's not just on a personal level that I fail to communicate on a regular basis. This is a global phenomenon.

Hi Blog. I know it's been a while. I'm sorry it took me so long to get back to you... I've just been really busy (total lie.) and there are a bunch of people in town that I haven't seen in a long time (another one.) I'm really not always this bad about this, I swear (lie.) It's just that things have really been hectic. My life is just insane (definite lie.) Plus I was sick for about a week (truth!)

So here's a picture for you, Blog. These are the beautiful little things that made me better.

I suffered for a week. I went to the doctor once, and they said it was the beginning of a cold. They told me to come back in a week if it didn't get better and it didnt. So I went back and they gave me these wonderful little green morsels of life. After two rounds (one day) the horrid pain in my throat had disappeared. Amazing!

So I'm better now, and I promise I'll keep in touch as often as I can from now on, ok?

The idea was that I wanted a place to publish photos. And when I say "publish", I mean "show all my friends". And so I've done just that. I have created a blog. Though I can hardly even credit myself with having done that. I followed the steps to have some expensive program create a blog for me. Which will work just fine.

It makes me realize why so many people are doing this as of late. It's ridiculously simple (to do it this way..) and you can have the ears of the world. (Or at least pretend to.)

I have for a long time considered blogs to be self indulgent, narcissistic rambling similar to what goes in the majority of private journals. Except now you're asking all your friends to read it. Here's what I ate for breakfast. Here's what music I'm listening to. Here's a story about this guy I like that is dating my friend.

Here's how much I care: .....

But in discussing this with a good friend of mine, I realized that it's not blogs themselves that irritate me so, it's the stupid people creating them.

There are terrible websites out there, just as there are terrible blogs, just as there are terrible stores.

But what can you do to stop any of this? Nothing.

And on the other hand, there are fantastic blogs out there written by witty, intelligent people. Not to mention witty, intelligent nerds.

So not all is lost.

Just my dignity.
